Hey all, just picked up an 89 500e. I'm not new to the gs line having a 650, 750, and 850 already in the stable. I really like this bike and I'm looking forward to getting it on the road.

The fork I'll be using is off a 99 750. I know people have swapped on gsxr forks before, but has anyone attempted to keep the stock wheel with it? I'm sure I'll have to machine some things to make it work but I'm just wondering if anyone has any guidance. Also has anyone mated the 500 gauges with the gsxr top triple? Thanks in advance!

99 GSXR 750 - has 30 and 30 ID stem, GS has 25 and 30. I would make an all new stem with a slipper on top of the 25 so after you slide the top bearing on you slide that larger dia on and fit the GSXR upper triple onto it. I've never tried it.

You must be the only guy, other than me who wants the GS guages on anything ... Make your own adapter, and its better to use that same original grommets - it helps keep the guages from vibrating to pulp. Anyway I cant stand those bicycle-puters, And I cant stand any other guage set on the GS. In fact I want GS guages on everything.

Cool.

Ken's living off the grid these days.
I think internet goes over there via donkey.

And I'd say the wheel is the least of his issues - as in ... hell no ... the 99 GSXR rotors wont fit, they are the flat type and aren't they 10mm smaller dia than the GS disks ... I'd almost bet its not gonna fit and the GSXR wheel is better anyway.

dgyver

I just happen to have a GSXR stem that has been turned to fit the GS. I had my 99 GSXR750 front end installed on my GS but moved it to my SV. Let me know if interested.

I used all GSXR parts... too much work to fit calipers, rotors, wheel spacers...

With an all balls racing fork bearing conversion kit isn't alternation of the stem not
Nessisary?

The only GSXR750 forks listed are 2011-2012 with kits for the GS500. Not sure what kit is available. Plus the GSXR stem is longer than the GS...need a spacer, unless the kit includes one.
