I've been wanting a motorcycle for a while and finally picked up an 04 GS.

She needed some new shoes and a new chain but she was only $900 and ran great so I couldn't refuse.

I've enjoyed riding a little too much, I've been riding 4 wheelers weekly since I was 4 so that probably has something to do with it.

I plan on making the bike look the way I want it and be comfortable to me whether it's a street fighter or whatever.

I've been working on cars for a while so this bike has been a breeze to work on.

Luckily besides the tires and chain, I've only had to replace the clutch pin from the chain being so loose on the drive home when I bought it, the chain snapped the clutch pin in 3 pieces.

I'll keep this thread updated until I leave for boot on August 3rd.

Here's a pic of it from this morning when I felt like going on a ride. She's not a looker yet, give her some time.

Went on my first long cruise today.

I didn't really plan it, just went for a ride and ended up in Tennessee then Mississippi.

The gas mileage is way better than expected, I averaged 67 mpg and that's with me having some fun.

I'll get some pics tomorrow and post them up.

I love cruising around so if anyone is near North AL send me a pm and we can roll out whenever.

I've done a lot of body work on cars so on the tank I plan on just leaving it on, and beat the higher points with a rubber mallet down unntil they are flush, then laying some bondo down and using spray-able bed liner to paint it.

It'll be easy to do and I've never seen bed liner used as paint. I guess we'll see how it goes.

I also have a plan for the stock headlight, I'll be doing it when I get back from the beach next week.

Never seen it done, I'll post some pics after but until then it's a secret  ;)  :-X
