My secret love is for canned herring and sardines.  I particularly like them packed in hot sauce or mustard, and will do kippered herring for a change.  My wife hates it, the cats love me when I eat them.

Fried pickles from the Rutter's by my girlfriends house.

A place in Perry county sells deep fried beer. I have yet to try it, but it's beer, and it's deep fried. It has to be good.

I LOVE Jalapenos.  I put them on everything.  When I go to Subway I ask for extra jalapenos, after they put what they think is "extra" on I tell them to double it.

I've never had fried beans.  Are they as good as refried beans?  Maybe we're just wasting time the second time through  :icon_rolleyes:

I have 6 cans of vienna sausage in my pantry.  An excellent low carb midnight snack.

Take a jelly donut - raspberry works great ...
Stick it in the toaster over till the top turns brown, and usually that's when the kelly inside starts to bubble outward and comes back out and starts to char ...

Then take it out. let it cool and eat it.

Now if you liked that, sprinkle sugar on it ...
If you liked that ...

OK fine start toasting anything and everything ... I like Gulab Jamun (indian sweet) and gulab jamun syrup ...

If you can eat that ... 2 is my limit ...
Then toast the syrup till it turns into caramel.

So, in short anything that is sickly sweet, and can be caramelised.

Cool.

Gulab jamun is the bomb.  And not a weird food at all unless you don't like fried dough with super sweet sugar syrup.  It may be the best kept secret of Indian cuisine.

Bully beaf ... the military man's dog food. I love it. Keep three cans in my pantry permanently for snacks. Don't even eat it on bread ... just a spoon and straight out of the can.

Not so much a food, but a drink.

"Splashe"; Back 'o' Bourke Cola. My whole family is addicted to it. Anyone who I've introduced to it hates it, cause they've got no taste buds cause they've drunk coke all their lives.

Also, Chicken "Legs" made by a butcher in Bourke NSW as well. They're not chicken, it's mince meat, spices and whatnot. So friggin' tasty it's not even funny. Everyone who I know who has family from Bourke or was brought up there loves them, anyone who didn't come from that area hates them. I cook up a stack of them and chuck them in the fridge for a snack. They're pretty good cold or hot.

Hey ... there's another one ... there's an indigenous meal in SA made out of boiled chicken legs ... normally served on pap (think of it like a .... flip ... there's no way to describe it so it sounds better, but it tastes great ... maize porridge (almost like US grits, but dryer)) with chicken gravy. It is the shizniz.
