Hi everyone.  I could not be happier than I am riding my Suzuki GS 500.  As a newbie, I can proudly say in less than 1 month I've put over 800 miles on my bike.  A good friend that I hadn't seen for a while (after pestering me about how dangerous it was riding etc.) admitted how much he wishes he was riding again.  He said, and I quote... "You can't truly know Freedom and Liberty until you've been on a bike"   Anyway, I got out early last Tuesday and decided to ride from my apartment in Brooklyn to Atlantic City for some poker and craps (oh yeah!!!!)  The ride down there was amazing.  endless miles (about 2 1/2 hours)  There was a chance of Thunderstorms but the sky looked clear.  Then I remembered what Adidasguy said to me "We live in Seattle,  if we don't ride in the rain, we're basically not going to ride..."  Four hours later I'm literally racing a northbound thunderstorm on my bike.  It was getting dark and visibility was lousy at best.

Obviously I made it but my 2001 GS headlights didn't provide any visual aid whatsoever at potential potholes within 25 feet of the front of my bike.  Has anyone experienced this issue?  Is there an alternative (ie. a halogen bulb option or replace headlamp? )

You can put an H4 silverstar bulb in the stock housing and that's as good as it's going to get on the stock light. Are you riding a naked GS or an F model?

If naked, there a lot of choices on ebay for 7" round headlights, probably better light output!

Dude....
I'm the guy who couldn't figure out on his own how to post an Avatar of my bike 10 minutes ago.  I get lost in a circular driveway...

Naked.... I don't know what that means... It's a 2001 GS 500 (stock-no modification)  I believe It now comes up with my postings.  I can try the H4 but assuming nude... What can a knucklehead like me do.(

Your bike is the naked version according to your avatar. Your bike takes the H4 Bulb. You can purchase a brighter output bulb for your bike at any auto store (they can assist in your purchase.)
I am not interested in anything you have to say
Don't bother talking to me, I will not answer you
