Inspired by the pics online of Pelican 1430 cases added to a Yamaha R1 "power commuter"
http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=237334

Got the hoops the cases are attached to from www.dirtracks.com.  Added a pair of Pelican 1430 cases and about a week of evenings staring at the parts before busting out the MIG welder and attaching brackets to the factory tied own bar thingys under the seat on each side.  A stroke of genius hit one night and I added a diagonal brace on each down to the rear peg mounts.   Brought it to a buddy that is a master welder for finish welding and voila!

Still need to shorten the rear taillight stalks and add some reflective tape, but they are on tight & don't wobble or wiggle, I see no negative effects to handling and only melted a little plastic while tacking it together.  ;).  Might have to paint the bike the same shade of green over the winter too.  :D

 :whisper:Found the in progress pics!

Started by attaching the bags to the racks, the welded 18" rods between the racks to hold them in position while I started tacking.  Set those over the tire and used a bungee cord & the piece of wood through the handles to set position parallel to seat...

Early pics...

Just a bit of trimming left before going off to finish welding...  Removed the temporary rear spacer too.

Very cool.   Looks good and clean.

Be aware, this is not very wise advise!
