I guess I reacted because I'm not used to hearing male chauvinism in this day and age. Now I know how my mom felt in the 70s. I should just let it go.  My bike is fabulous, even though two women have now owned it.

For other peoples info i would also NOT buy a car from a female for the same reason,nor come to think of it much else.
Possibly curtains but that's about it.
