Hey everyone!

I have a wonderful repaired and running smoothly GS500E again, and have been riding it for the past 5 months. I'll post some project pics in the project/build section of the forums when I have time, but for now I'm more focused on selling the left overs. My fiancee and I are getting married in September, and we're just shy of our wedding fund goal. So, it seems I will be selling both my drumset and my spare bike parts. EVERYTHING MUST GO!

I have no hard prices for anyone, as I'm only looking to get maybe $250 out of all the parts (I paid only $500 for the spare bike, and the only thing I really needed was the engine).

The spare was a 1993 GS500E. Here's what I've got:

1 x Rear wheel assembly with sprocket, rotor, and Avon tire almost new (will check tire model when I get home)
1 x Front wheel assembly with rotor and Avon tire almost new (again, will check model when home)
1 x Front fender
1 x STOCK Tail light assembly
4 x STOCK blinkers
2 x STOCK headlight assemblies (both have a ding, will post images)
1 x STOCK tachometer
1 x STOCK speedometer
1 x STOCK airbox
1 x STOCK tach and speedo mount
1 x Handlebars (appear to be stock, but may be aftermarket, will post pics)
1 x STOCK speedo cable
1 x STOCK tach cable
1 x STOCK choke cable
1 x STOCK throttle cable
1 x STOCK blinker/brights/horn assembly
1 x STOCK starter switch assembly

1 x Complete cylinder head assembly, with all matching parts (I used the top end from my old engine). This includes cams, valves, etc. PO left two broken exhaust bolts however, but with the right tools they can be removed. I simply didn't bother as I had my own top end ready to go.

1 x Cylinder block assembly. NO PISTON RODS, as the RH piston rod bearing is was blew on my old engine. Otherwise, the pistons and cylinders themselves are clean and healthy.

All sorts of engine and frame hardware

Axel bolts

Carbs with all parts, however the fuel/air mixture brass screw on one side is stripped. PO ruined the flathead fastener top.

If I missed anything, I will list them when I get home from work. Also, I will post pics when I get home or tomorrow during the day. I am more than willing to paint/clean any parts if requested. If you want pics of anything specific, ask and I shall do my best. So long as the prices are reasonable, its name your own price, but I do need to make some kind of profit over shipping. Besides, you guys would know better with all of the collected experience here as to what reasonable prices are.

SuperFish

Im looking to do the F to E conversion. Do you have the headlight, bucket, mounting hardware?

Chronohunter45

Indeed I do. Two sets actually. Do you need the triangles as well? I do not have a spare set of headlight fork mounts (the black mounts that the forks slide through, where the headlight triangles mount), only the triangles.

Are the handlebars chrome or black?

Black.

Just got back from work, had some late calls and didn't leave the station until late. I will post pics tomorrow.

The following items have been sold:

Gas tank and keyed locks have been sold.

2 x Headlight BOWL (not the light/glass itself, just the bowl they sit in).

Front forks have been sold, sorry fellas.

1 x Pair of headlight triangles.

The carbs are currently disassembled, but all the parts are there. Did you read about the one mixture screw? I don't want to sell you something you can't use. I can rebuild them for you and lube them with some 2 or 4 stroke oil as well. PM me with what you think a reasonable price would be.

These parts are going pretty quick fellas, to whoever offers money first. Here are some pics of all the parts laid out (minus some hardware not shown):

I will post close ups of requested parts and others as requested for users to inspect condition. The wheels seem to be in great shape, minus some paint chipping. The rotors have some surface rust due to the PO leaving the bike outside, but that can be wire-brushed or sanded off with some elbow-grease.

The tires are AVON Roadriders 54V 110/70 front and 66V 140/70 rear. Both tires look like they have maybe 200 miles on them, tops. No tread wear. If no one buys, I'll keep these myself so I don't have to buy new bt-45s.

Taking picture requests now.

Just a heads up for everyone, I won't know shipping costs until Tuesday when I have the chance to step into a postal service. I'm back on the ambulance/rescue tomorrow and won't have the chance until Tuesday morning to check shipping costs.

For now, please pm me with what you would think a fair price is and we'll go from there. Also, I'm more than happy to take more photos of the parts you desire to purchase. Just request them via pm or email like the others have and I will post.

Thanks again for the quick replies!

For the crankcase? Or for the front sprocket and starter?

Sprocket and starter/ignition disc.

Edit: Wait... The left side only has a sticker, doesn't it..?

I do, you can see them in the images. The ignition cover is a bit beat up though. PM me if you are interested, I may do some sanding and painting for you.

False alarm... I just lost the sticker on the crank case on the left side. Sorry about that.

How do the handlebar switch assemblies look, both sides?  The ones on my 97 are faded as heck.

These have average fade, typical of a early to mid 90s bike.

Chronohunter45

Here are some better shots of the handlebars for the fellas to are looking to buy:

They are a bit scuffed, and they have a few small spots of surface rust (New England bike), but nothing some good 100 grit and some good spraypaint won't fix. I can do the work myself if requested. They almost look like stock bars that were painted black, but they don't have the steel threaded end caps like stock bars. Still a nice set though.
