So I just got a '94 GS and it has a decent oil leak on the bottom right side of the crankcase it only leaks when running and also the carbs need cleaned i think it bogs down under 5k rpm and choke just kills it anytime there also seems to be gas or oil (maybe both) coming from where the exhaust comes from the left cylinder this is also the side where the carb seems worst any help would be much appreciated I can get pics if needed I've got a ton of other questions about the bike just think this are the biggest to point out for now

start with pics, what you think might be wrong.

and people will be more apt to respond

Ok, sounds like you have a lot going on here.  Depending on how bad the oil leak is... get to run right, then worry about the leak.  Because chances are, you'll get lost fixing the leak before it runs right, and then you are stuck in a worse shape than you started.

Sounds like you probably have some bad carb issues. But start from the beginning and work your way down.  Ensure adequate fuel flow from the tank, through the petcock, and to the carbs.  Then ensure adequate filling of both carb bowls using a clear tube on the bowl drains bent upward.  The fuel level should settle in the tube at the same height as your carb bowl gasket. If it is different, you need to open the carb and sort out why (Unseated needle valves, floats set right).  If that checks out, you need to ensure fuel delivery is okay to the engine.  One simple way is to check the spark plugs, and that can tell you all kinds of things just by color/texture/etc.. so look that up if you don't know how to read a spark plug, or post the pics here and we can help.

I highly suspect you will find at least one issue at this point if you have followed it in order.  Post up the results and I'm sure we will have a direction and a better idea of what's really going on.  It should tell us if you want to open up the carbs yet, or look toward some electrical issue, or possibly compression... we just need more things to diagnose till then.

Sorry about not having pics... But I got my carbs tore down today and I'm missing a few items inside the carb.
1. Slide spring
2. Needle seat
& Small clip(paper clip thing) on the float needle valve/needle seat
I got the picture above from http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=56601.0
Also my main jet I removed a screw type thing(top visible piece), I'm not sure if that's the jet or what, Its all that was there.
Sorry about not really knowing these things, This is my first bike and very much still learning.
Thanks for the help, I'd appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction to get these items.
One more thing I'm missing the entire airbox (The guy I bought the bike from must have really had no idea what he was doing all the bolts on the carbs were also stripped  :nono: )

Hmm, figured there was a lot going on in there, but couldn't have guessed all that...
and yes, that is the main jet.

If I were in your shoes, and new to it all, I'd just get a set of working carbs off a member here or ebay... Then either keep your carbs for parts or sell 'em as parts carbs to recoup a little money. It'll be hard to get all the parts you need without knowing everything you should have, regardless of how good pics or diagrams you have to look at.  And carb issues will drive a person into the ground due to the smallest of things like a single o-ring.

Do you have a ballpark on what a set of carbs would run me?q

I think with being strapped for cash as I am and in such need of transportation, My only option will be to attempt rebuild.
I'm looking at $100 (I don't have) for a new rear tire already + Licence fees
