Btw that's Seattle. 
I took the 2 day basic riding course, got my endorsement, and bought a GS500F in the span of 4 days. Never rode a motor bike of any kind before that. 
Got the bike off Craigslist for what I think is a fair $2500 with 12k miles in great condition.  Originally wanted a white color scheme, but the bargain seemed too good to pass.  Seller was nice enough to deliver it since I was too chicken to take it on the freeway. I've been taking it around neighborhoods and small streets, but still haven't taken her on the freeway yet.

I also don't have my own gear yet.  I'm riding with my friend's gear until I can get some ideas on what I want.  Not really sure what's good or not.  If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. 

Here's a list of mods that came with the bike:

Do you know Backfire Moto? 3rd Wed. of the month. Just a HUGE gathering of bikes. Always fun and friendly people. It is tomorrow. Centered around 17th and Leary in Ballard. Some of us will be there - hanging around behind Hilliards Brewery. I plan to ride Junior - my restored 1992 GS500.
