First off, Thank You.

Bowen upholstery is a legal business but its just me that does everything. I made it a business so I would be able to do seats for insurance claims through local shops.

I work with everyone in the Madison,Wi area except the two big box store style cycle shops (Vatesnik &Englehardt) but what I get instead of them is about 5 local shops that cover everything from the motorcycle salvage to Ducati, motocross to track day oriented shops. One of my biggest bragging points is that my seat was on the land speed record holding Ducati 999 long bike at the salt flats thanks to Bill at Motorcycle Performance who has been a huge proponent to me having the success that I have had.

I've been doing this for 7 years now and I've been working for the last 2 years to stockpile reproducible patterns for e bay sales so I can hopefully get a part time job and do this more. I can also remake almost any 70's bike seat all I need is the old cover.. or whats left of it.

I was also thinking of offering a returnable core offer so I'd just pay return shipping and you'd just re-box your old seat in the same packaging, slap on the return label and I'd give $40 back when I get the tracking #. What do you think? I'm not sure if thats more than people would like to deal with?

Kinda short but I'm not much of a writer. Thanks though, this kinda gives me the hope I need to focus on my business again.

That seat I bought was sooooooo goooood that I think this person is worth throwing pour support to.

I plan to pull my crappy seats off the shelf and send them in for recovering. Maybe a thin one, a gel one and a fancy one.

I have to say, not often I see quality sewing like I have on this new seat.

MUCH better than Corbin. (Corbin looks like old crappy horse saddles to me.)

I'd throw some interest toward 01+ seats... which don't have factory gels or corbins on the market for them anyway... only super expensive $450+ like top sellerie and maybe one other...

I have custom gel seats on my GSXR1000 and I have a Corbin and to be honest, for the price of the Corbin I am not impressed. Its it NOT cushioned or as comfortable as my gel seats are

so how does this work? you send your seat out with $125 and he will replace the foam with gel and reupholster it with nice material? my uncle thinks my seat is much comfier than his r6 seat. i do wish i could have the 2 piece seat like his has but im not a very good fabricator

I will ask them was going to send my seat to corbin or sargent to have it redone. Will message yhem first.

Very nicely done seat. I redid one on my BMW f650 that looks similar, but I imported the cover from Poland. Would be much better to do it local.

I am very interested in having a gel insert put in my 2001 GS500E seat. I cannot find this seller on ebay.

I had emailed him asking if he would do just a cover for those that wold install it by themselves. He said he could. Its cheaper and you don't have to your seat out if you are so inclined. Putting the covers on is not that hard.

 

This sounds like a great deal for good work. I am VERY interested in having gel - particularly gel that is shaped with less tendency to impress my personals upon the tank.
