Hi all i recently ruined my cylinder head by over torquing and snapping a bolt off on the camshaft journal holders  i know i now have to replace the cylinder head ,once i had reached the point where it was time to separate the cylinder head from the cylinder block i lightly tapped the cylinder head with a mallet in order to break the seal but the problem is the seal didn't break so when i went to remove it, it instead separated the cylinder head and the cylinder block in one piece, slightly from the engine case ,my question is now do i need to replace the gasket that connects the cylinder block to the engine case? because i have heard that, that particular gasket is a one time use.

PS any recommendations on how to separate the cylinder block from the cylinder head?

Yes, you'll need to replace that gasket (it's called the base gasket btw). Usually removing the head from the cylinders isn't all that hard.....are you sure there are no bolts holding them together? IIRC, there is one smaller bolt on the front side that holds the two parts together.
