To the members:

Just a few points I'd like to make.  I have some great moderators here.  They all try to let the board flow as freely and openly as possible.  There are rare times when something crosses the line of descency.  Recently such an incident took place and seeing I (the owner of the GStwin(s).com domain) was travelling, making my way out west looking for a cheaper place to live because I lost my job and my like was thrown into chaos, a moderator apparently had no choice but delete a poster's messages to get rid of an offensive photo, as he was unable to edit this person's personal settings.  It was only to protect all members from a shocking and disturbing photo and I stand by this moderator's decision.

I am the most lax and easy going of all the moderators.  I let almost everything slide and only 2 days ago did I ban my first member.  That's ONE member in two years.  So please cut the "free speech" crap.  It hardly gets more free than here.

You "free speech" people need to realize that maybe this stuff is important to you, but to me and others with real issues and problems really find your over the top attacks on the moderators as pithy and distasteful.  So do me the favor.  Just accept the fact that GStwin.com will not allow bestiality, or pornography on the board.  Period.  Personal attacks are OK to a point but if it gets outrageous we will probably step in.  None of us like to interfere.  Really.  Like we have time.

So please.  Enjoy GStwin.com.  Enjoy the board.  Enjoy the overwhelming freedom here.  But have a little common sense and respect for other board members when you post.  That's all.  Thanks.

I realize that each of us probably has our own definition of what's suitable and what's not.  In this case, this is your place to run so you get to make the final judgement on what goes.  I support you in that.  This ain't Russia, no way.

I guess if someone has a problem, they can start their own board or find another.  What do they think this is? Russia?  No one is holding them here.

Good thing it's not Russia.  In Russia, you could threaten the sysadmins, kidnap their kin as hostages, and if someone doesn't like it, they can hire someone bigger than your bodyguards and try to make something out of it.  

...but you're right, no free speech, since nothing comes free in Russia these days.

essentially this is a site not governed by law, so anything can be for lack of a better word censored. john you, (and the admins/mods) provide a great service. essentially for no cost. aside from the donationsalthough i just sold my beloved frankenbike err... gs, im still hangion around. cause alot of the members have bikes other than the gs. or in addition to. heck even one of our mods went honda keep up the good work heck that deserves two    

Pornography?  Bestiality?  Heck, if I wanted to see that sort of stuff there are thousands of sites I could surf (Ithink).  If I want to discuss the GS500 there aren't too many sites and none better than this.  The ideal of free speech does not apply here because of the specific focus of the site.  Also, as with any "freedom", the greater the freedom, the greater the responsibility to use that freedom appropriately.  Freedom only truly exists within the framework of appropriate rules.  Anything else is anarchy and fear.
Thanks to all the moderators of this site for trying to ensure our relative freedom is used responsibly.
