Clutch not fully engaging

Hey all,
I bought a 2004 gs500f 3 weeks ago, first bike I've ever owned or ridden. It wouldn't start in the mornings, I chalked it up to being too cold so I would bump start it, let it warm up, and then the electric start would work fine for the rest of the day. I took it out for a ride 4 days ago (bump started it again)it ran totally fine, then I parked it, left for 3 days, came back, and the clutch seems not to be fully engaging. I haven't had it running, but it wouldn't start (again, trying to bump start it), and it feels very heavy when it is in gear and I have the clutch lever squeezed.
I tried adjusting the clutch cable but it didn't fix the problem. Does anyone have any ideas what could be going on here?

There are two clutch adjustments one on the bars and one on the side of the motor. Where did you adjust the cable?
Whats your battery voltage when attempting to start it?
Are you choking it when starting it ?
When did "you" change the oil?

If the clutch isnt fully engaging then you need to adjust the cable. Rob already mentioned their locations. As for not starting in the cold, is it at least cranking over? if so then when was the last time you checked the valves. I had problems with my bike starting up in the cold due to very tight exhaust valves. you should also make sure your battery is charged. i keep mine on a trickle charger at least once a week to be safe.
