My drive chain has some pretty tight spots so I'm going to replace it  and get some new sprockets soon. Where do you buy your chains?

While I'm at it, I was looking into carb kits, because mine needs some maintenance and a good cleaning. What carb kits do you recommend?

I usually just go through Bike Bandit or Ebay, but if you know of something better, please share.

Thanks,
Erika

I like Amazon. They've got a pretty decent selection.

As for carb kits, just make sure you get OEM float needles.

Is the carb set leaking ? then you dont need carb kit.
You buy a gasket kit only if you need the float gasket.
Needles - stock is better, old is better too, unless you ahve damage, leave the old ones in.

I sell O rings for the 89-00 - $10 shipped - but well some carbs it is not a good fit - dont ask why.

Cool.

They're not leaking, just running a little lean. It doesn't seem like I should re-jet until further investigation. I'm hoping the originals will be just fine and won't need new ones. I'm pretty sure these carbs have never been cleaned.

Sooo... you are selling gasket sets?... but warning that it may not work on my carbs? I have a 94... do you think they may work?

It's rare that metal carb parts wear-out...even seals don't often need replacing.
A GOOD chain n sprockets is essenial........i like the kit idea.

The O rings I have had issues with are the unimportant ones.
The top, the plastic slide and the flost spigot one are good fit. The questionable one is the one that holds the float in.

I'll 'prolly just get the carb seals... just in case one is messed up (or I mess one up myself)... then I don't have to worry about not riding. Hmm a chain/sprocket kit could be the way to go! Funny, I just looked on the US Ebay and most of the sprocket/chain kits are from the UK.

Hi Erika,
You don't need a "kit."
Just buy good quality sprockets and a good quality chain. I have great luck with Tsubaki chains.
I bought an o-ring chain with a press fit master link and am very pleased.
I always get great deals and free shipping at Competition Accessories.
They are great to deal with and have great prices.
If you want, I can give you the part numbers for the stuff I ordered for my 1991 GS500E.
Best wishes,
Trwhouse  :)
