some folks  like most here. expect a cruiser to handle like a sport bike. ive ridden an xlcr ( guy mentioned in video. ) also had ridden an xr1200 unlike most here. I don't criticize folks for riding something I disapprove of. whether that disapproval is Yamaha, Honda, Kawi, or Suzuki I like em all. even the Chinese stuff lol. hence my username. YamaHonKawaZuki which was my first street legal moto. centred around a 97 gs500. and a couple parts from an HD.

Yeah, lol. When we went down to Delmarva 2 years ago, my friend's dad rented a Harley fat boy because they only had an EX. Well, halfway through, my friend and his dad decided to switch bikes (through college town Delaware. Coincidence..?). He said he loved the Harley because it was comfortable and easy to ride, but he just about shat himself on the first corner because he was so used to the Ninja.

Harleys are not, and will never be, sport bikes. But nobody really said they were. Harley just said that these new ones are more geared toward urban environments. That being said, their handling probably is pretty good relative to other Harleys.

that is like asking a pickup to have the handling of a grand touring car. so you automatically are asking for shortcomings.  or a cruiser to be a good canyon carver which it would NEVER be. cmon now compare apples to apples Eh? get some seat time before you bash. I as well as others here speak from experience. I do my best to have no bias. works pretty good. ill bash a bash worthy bike. like my gs' at times. ill even bash my HDs only shortcomings. a simple switch. 

2wheels will always trump 4 wheels for fun and freedom ... Who cares what brand it is? ....

OK I've got the dimensions from the beginning of the video so I'll go play with it.

Traded the Dyna for the FLHX but i'll run it on the bagger once i have course dimensions. We take the tennis balls out (cut in half) and go play in parking lots when we ride. My 954 took every inch of road available to make a turn at low speed. The Bagger makes them with room to spare.

Last police MC course I took in the spring was 18' cone distance or figure 8's

Next time you want to go play lay out an Iron cross or triple turn.

The Rotax fitted buell which IMHO was the height of the handling in the sport bike realm. This motor will not even fit a bike that has the potential to approach that Buell, and that buell was waxed by a GSXR.

You do know the 2009 AMA sportbike pro championship title went to Danny Eslick, (who is from my area) on a Buell 1125R  Right?

yup. im picky on my buells though I wonder whre I could get my hands on a basket case evo. cool thing about HD is you don't  have to split the cases to do a transmission job. in many caes you don't have to remove engine for an upper rebuild either.

Yup it did. Beat up GSXR600's and yamaha R 6's.
And remember that was with the rotax motor something really special IMHO. That Buell really was a special bike. The HD crap being tossed off it, really helped it. Seriously what was not  to like - gas in the frame design, even though it was no dry sump with oil in SA - it was still a great design.

Yea and oil in SA, lovely design. I actually like dry sump a lot. Anyway aluminum perimeter frame with gas in it = masterpiece, and so is the oil in SA. Except the boat anchor of a HD motor ... the rotax was an improvement over that.

Cruisers tend to work a lot better @ low speeds. The vulcan 750 was eye poppingly good, so was the virago 1100. Lap timing is far different story.
Effort, confidence, and all those aspects of "feel" are all cruiser all the way.
Speed and timing - cant keep with a GP bike especially one ridden by someone who has the talent and the attitude (not chicken like me)
Dragging pegs @ 30 mph is easy. dragging them @ 100 takes nerve, talent and a bike that will cooperate.
