I have a 1997 GS500E and when I bought it I noticed the headlight was makeshift. I've been having issues with it. I've been wondering what some of the best options are? Thanks in advance

Do you mean the housing or the bulb?

I'm putting in an HID kit as part of my winter project. Anything is better than the stock bulb, and the blue tint to the light makes things a bit more noticeable to other drivers.

I upgraded to a better performance headlight bulb & added a LED.

PS....."issues"?

I was't happy with my bike's light. I put a 90W100 bulb in it with relays and the result is awesome light. O0

Silly question time:

would something like this be an easy drop LED replacement, or would one actually have to look for a LED bulb with high/low capability?

no. led need a different reflector and lenses.

just like his does.

led will scatter much worse than his, blind/dazzle more.

I suppose that's why I keep seeing those described as "off-road" use.

Cheers.

Mister, are you asking about the mirrors or the mirror extensions?  I don't know about the mirrors themselves but I've seen those extensions somewhere before.......maybe eBay?

Aztec8 5-3/4" look the best in my opinion, I might be bias since they are on my bike though.

A bit pricey, but they have great light output and look fantastic. I'll be upgrading the bulbs next season to get even more light out of them.

Looks like Aztec8's site is down currently though, hoping they didn't go belly up

I've got SV650 mirrors on mine. Much better than stock. Just wondered what those were.

Sorry no links or even access to by the duals I have. Seems that Aztec8 did go belly up.. Glad I got my lights and fly screen in time!

With a regular gsE style round headlight(7") you can use OEM gs500 headlight mounts or you can get the cheapo 37mm universal style headlight mounts, but I've never liked the though of metal brackets mounted directly on the fork tubes..

Found this one one eBay. Will I be able to fit this and my turn signals  on my Gs or will I have to get something to mount my turn signals? Or just get better turn signals?
