More progress for today...

Head stem, brakes, shocks and assorted bits & pieces sprayed in Satin Black as well


Rear rotary damper & spring replaced with a Hyperpro shock FTW


New Renthal grips were a total bastard to fit without compressed air but I got them on and they're rock solid! All switch contacts cleaned up and lubed ready for action

It's looking great Cam, are you going to get some billet reservoirs?

To be honest I'd rather get some brand new OE reservoirs... I haven't seen any aftermarket ones that fit properly or look nice!

DAMN! Top notch work with crazy attention to the little details. Looking great!

Your choices seem pretty top shelf so far, so I'm sure you know what you're doing!

Lol the fairings I bought came with hand grenade valve caps as a "free gift".... Let me know if you want them and they can be my free gift to you

At this stage I wouldn't care if the reservoirs were McDonald's sundae cups as long as its done by the 24th!!! 18 months is a long time sitting on the bench!

Maybe the black anodized ones... I want the bike to look like it's on steroids but stock if you catch my drift

I reckon the silver ones look pretty cool. Black flies under the radar a little more though i guess.

One more vote for the black ones.

Quick update - all wiring installed and fuel tank plumbed up, a couple of primes on the fuel pump and it fired to life 

So good to hear it thumping again and very satisfying to know that after everything was stripped, repaired, replaced and renewed - it lives again!
Just waiting on wheels and tail frame to return from the painters so I can finish it off!

Just waiting on wheels, rear seat frame and fuel tank to return from the painters so everything else is virtually finished! The speedo perspex was cracked so after 3 hours shaping new faces its finished... what a mission! Will be wrapping the exhaust next week and final assembly!

err ... Unsane mate .... Wheel the bike outside the garage before you fire it up the first time with that wrap on .... It'll probably smoke like a bastard for 5-10 mins!!!

Unsane...what are you doing for wheels?  I've just sorted out everything needed to fit R1/6 wheels to a K1 GSXR1000...should be an identical setup for the tiller.

Thanks janx I will be sure to do that... This stuff is hazardous enough without fumes to boot!

As for wheels, have the stock wheels painted in a satin bronze... Should have them back tonight!
