Any one any idea why my bike has started to melt fuses?

it may you have short circuit and exceed amount of electrons is flowing in your fuse

You have a nice short circuit somewhere.. all the lights working? how long is it taking to melt?

It takes roughly 2 months for it to melt one. I can wiggle the red connector to the starter relay and this cuts all the electrics out  so that could be the problem????
Don't no if this helps but it need to be charged up regularly although I think this is to do with the battery be older.

Melting the plastic is not the same as blowing the fuse. Melting is heat - and that can be caused by very poor connections which are arcing and causing minor shorts.

Time to take out the battery and other parts there and check all your electrical parts for corrosion and bad connections.

wiggle-able 'high power' cable on starters and such are IIRC ... NOT good for your electrical system .. arcing/jumping/fizzing-spitting electricity generally is non desirable unless you are a lightning chaser!!  ;)

on this particular issue i can only refer to a truck problem i had about 4 months ago...

we had been 'tidying up' under the truck (8 tonner) and checking/tightening/replacing ....bolts and wires and such ... someone ...who may have me  :oops: ... took off the battery earth lead .. before trimming some loose wire strands on the end of the starter cable .. (this is 24v system and touching a metal tool from the leads to the chassis produces some 'interesting' sparks) .. not only did i forget to tighten up the bolt on the end of the cable on the starter again .. but i forgot to properly tighten down the battery negative also .. and forgot to check the positives on the twin batteries ...  :oops: :oops: :oops: ... it was late in the day and i was going to finish off other stuff next morning .. so i left it..

over 2 days the following week... starting truck was hard ... starter playing up.... fuse went here and there.... finally remembered what might be doing it...  :icon_rolleyes: .... end of starter lead black with carbon spark stuff ... one post on the one of the batteries almost completely eaten/hollowed out by sparking/jumping .. and a slightly slagged battery connector as well... financial result .. -$280 from the  bank account! ..

having firm/tight electrical connections is IMPORTANT!! .. and less expensive ...

you dont have to torque them!! ... just quite tight so they ... do not/cannot/will not wiggle/rattle/move ...  :thumb:
