Hello GS Forum.  Has been awhile since I posted here, lots of diversions.  Some of you may remember my postings regarding the GS500 I built for the salt flats.  I'm still having issues with the electronics, but I hope to get that resolved with a new ECU in January.  Also built a monster inner cooler, to keep down the detonation problem.  Bending and twisting rods off at the crank on the dyno.  No crank failures, but I lose the cylinders, head, and cases when it flies apart.  Ugly, should get on top of this soon.  Will post some more later.

Another picture of what 35PSI on 20% nitro can do in 8 seconds.  Also a picture of my bike, trailer and wife at the October World Finals at Bonneville in 2012.  Were rained out this year.   I've made a lot of progress with this motor since that time, finally figured out what was bending rods and twisting them off the crank.  Turns out that my tuner who built the ECU, was only killing spark when the rev limiter actuated.  The fuel continued to pour in, which was causing hydrolocking.  At full throttle, the four injectors, two at 1200 cc/min, and two at 650cc /min, combine for 3.7 litres per minute of liquid, which is noncompressable.  All of the damage I have incurred, has been on the dyno.  When you have the bike strapped down on that roller at 150mph, you have enormous kinetic energy developed.  When the limiter hit, the fuel would just act as a solid in the cylinder, and with the clutch I have in place, there is no slippage.  So the stored energy in the dyno drum, just ran through the chain, tranny, clutch and on to the rotating crank, where it just ripped things apart.  Takes the head, cylinder and cases with it.  Used engines are cheap, but the parts that go back in are not.
The torched pistons were not the result of hydro locking, that was from an error in the tuning, that allowed that cylinder to go lean at full open.  The cylinder was history, but the crank was not damaged.  One thing that I have been right about so far, is that the cranks are very strong.  Even with the hydro locking, and twisting the rods off, the crank is still in use.  Never lost a bearing.  Happy about that, the bottom end is really tough.
Will send some more pics of the custom inner cooler after the holiday.  Heading to Florida, get out of this cold.

Sorry to hear about your luck man. Sacrifices to the god of speed, huh?
