I have a 99 gs500e it has a v&h bolt on exuast and a k&n pod filter "have an extra pod i will sell to someone for what i paid for it"

I understand rejetting and adjusting the timming will vastly inprove performance of this bike. I am looking for the best combinination for inprovement. any sugestions on jets and timming advance would be very helpful. Been known to experiment a lot but just really don't want to spend countless hours playing around "like i don't do that enough already" if i dont have to.

Was also thinking cams. hmmmmm
any ideas there?

If you are wanting cams. Megacycle (//www.megacyclecams.com) will increase the lobes & degree your stock cams for $266. Need to get the heavier valve springs as well. Adds about 2000 rpms before valves float. BobB will modify your stock ignition plate to allow for advancing the timing. Much cheaper than the V&H rotor, if you can find one.
Common sense in not very common.

ok cam idea is cool. i read the post on diy timing. it says 5 deg. what about6 or 7 deg. how much is to much. i also read a couple of posts on jetting one says 140's ,40's ,and 1 washer. while the other said 150's , 40's and 2 washers. whats the diff between the two? besides more fuel.looking for good power from 1500 thru at least 8500. ca,mon give me a break and help me out. what comes around goes around. been thinking makeing some custom "cafe racer" farings in the shop. if they look right i could be pursuaded to pull a mold off of them.
