I showed my better 1/2 that Adidas gets to work on his inside and ya know what she did?  :nono: :nono: :nono: That along with a statement about a million years or some kind of measure of time. Not in my time period I have left on this earth any way.... Props to you Adidas....

adidasguy

HUHSKY is inside for 4 reasons:
1. There is space in the sun room
2. Bike Cave was all filled up with everyone's projects
3. Bike cave was cold (now has a 6000w 240v heater and is very nice!) the sun room was warm.
4. Wanted a place for all the expensive plastics & stuff to be where it wouldn't get scratched or damaged.

Having double french doors out to a big deck made from ipe wood also helps. I can wheel it outside with ease.

Painting is being finished and should be delivered to me Wednesday. I'm so excited!

PS: the view of Mt. Rainer really helps when working on HUHSKY.

Servus Adidas,

great Work, R E S P E C T:

Interested at this fairing?
All parts used.

adidasguy

Very interested.
I used to have the seat cowling. Sold it to the guys down under because they have different prices for licenses based on the bike carrying 1 person or two people. I bet they would have a real keen interest in that seat cowling.  (Balu Racing I recall was the brand).
There are lots of members of the West Seattle GS500 Club wanting fairings for their bikes. If not one of my bikes, I know one of the members would eagerly put it on their bike.
Shoot me some prices. Danke.

Mighty nice paint job. . T he tail is cool too. Does it slide under the seat or how does it attach?

It came very nice indeed! Much better than I was expecting! I thought that you were painting it single colour (blue, of course), but that scheme, with the stickers an all, it almost looks like OEM work.
So much customized bikes around, but haven't seen one that accomplished that "clean" OEM-like look.
Yet, the best of it is the cat paw detail!
Congrats!

The seat is the Gimbel seat. The butt pad was removed for painting.
Paw prints are actually dog - they call them the US Huskies Dawgs. Some parts have hidden dawg paw prints in the purple. It shows when the light hits it at a certain angle.

Donnie

Adidas, did you have to make the seat pads for the Gimbel solo seat shell? If so did you use a old seat pan to do so?

steezin_and_wheezin

Paint looks minty!! Painter really did an exceptional job. Stoked to see the next updates
if yer binders ain't squeakin, you ain't tweakin!

adidasguy

The Gimbel seat is complete. It replaces everything on the back end. Only fits on the "E" frame. I have not tried them on the "F" frame since the tail of the frame is different. Some day I'll see if they fit, but don't thing they will.

There is a second model of Gimbel seat that just replaced the seat only and uses your regular tail plastics.

Donnie

That's a good deal that the seat pads are included... I've been up and down the web trying to find the undertail plastic to the 500e (after market that is..) I've seen pictures of them but having a hard time finding a selling site . Any one know of such a site? :dunno_black:

adidasguy

You mean the black plastic rear fender thingie? About $40 new. Same part for all GS500's. Used actually costs more on ebay, though sometimes the reflectors and turn signals are included.

BaluRacing makes one out of fiberglass without the rear fender at the back. Designed to use a metal bracket to hold the license plate. I have 2 that I'm not using. makes sense so you don't have to chop off the fender if you don't want it. Here we need it because streets are always wet and water gets thrown up on your back from the rear wheel if you don't have the fender going down the back.

adidasguy

All the parts were delivered tonight. Now they sit for 2 weeks to fully cure and harden, while the bike is finished and made running.

Paw prints are actually dog

After all, that paint job isn't that nice...  :icon_mrgreen:
He he --- you cat person. Actually I would prefer cats, but that would be the Eastern Washington Cougars!  Which may be another bike.... :icon_rolleyes:

I would prefer cat paw prints, but since their mascot is a Husky, they have tobe called dog prints.
We could call them cat prints that messed up the husky dog paint?
