Hi everyone

Going to start a build thread for my GS500F (05), Which i'm attempting to turn into a single seat fighter

Mods List

K&N Lunchbox
Screaming Demon exhaust (short, black oval)
Rejet to suit the above
Dominator style twin headlights
Koso Digital dash
GSXR rear sets
Suburban machinery handlebars
New tail
Black engine with polished fins
Painting tail and front fender to match the candy grand blue colour (stock colour)
Few other pieces painted matte black to blend with the rest of the bike

So, jumping ahead a bit, here is where she sits now, currently mocking up how the tail will sit (still need to finish the seat modification so don't stress over it's looks)

The frame is going off to the welder in 2 days to get a new brace across the back of the shortened frame, and 2 mounts for the tail to screw in to.

Quick question, how do you like the tail as it is sitting now? (ignore the tape, it's a means to keeping everything in place to gauge the final product) Would you adjust any of it? Looking for feedback before i go any further. Also keep in mind where the tail meets the old tail fairing will be fibre glassed and any lines reworked to blend together.

Cheers
Dan

Thought i'd add some progress. I do have some more detailed shots, but figured i'd skip to the chase

This is her when i picked her up. (still have the luggage rack and bag, are they worth selling? was a direct bolt on)

Here she sits now

Still unsure of the front end, thinking it may need a ducati monster (mini) wind shield and cowl. Also, still had to finish the foootpegs, bleeding the rear brake to accommodate the switch to GSXR rear sets, master cylinder and reservoir. The tail itself has also been wetsanded, cut and waxed. I've added the LED indicators out the sides of the headlights but feel it looks too weird (widens the front too much). Also clutch cable was dangling wildly before I cleaned behind the cover to put the new sprocket in.

Thoughts anyone? Mods to date include

14T front sprocket (have a 15T on the way to switch out in a week when i'd like some more practicality)
Repainted front fender (colour matched)
Blended stock tail (under the seat) to an RS125 race tail (fibreglass work and repaint)
Removed fairings and added Dominator style headlights and custom Koso Mount
Suburban Machinery Handlebars
Full engine repaint
K&N Lunchbox Filter
Screaming Demon Oval Short Exhaust
Carb Rejet to accommodate above mods
Sub Frame Shortened to accommodate tail
Shortened the original GS500 seat to suit modification
