Fired up a year old engine with mildew and grime inside. Resorted my wires and look atcni

Finally got round to wiring my voltmeter through a relay (had it on a switch which had gotten faulty and required 5 mins of jiggling with to get it working). Was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was and how cheap the relay was (will have to see how long it lasts) With the switch removed I was also able to clean up the wiring on the bars.

Finally reinstalled a front sprocket circlip! Lost mine around a month ago while cleaning the shop mid sprocket change  :nono:

Thanks again Adidas!!

Now to finish trimming my gimbel chin fairing.

So today I pulled the battery out so I can charge or replace it.  It's been too long since I vanished off the radar here.  I had to remove the seat lock barrel with the snapped off key, and I made myself a ring pull arrangement.  I'll throw the old battery on a trickle charger for 24 hours and we'll see if this beast still fires up.

she was running a bit rough the other day so I gave her a wash and now she's happy as a clam :D
You can run, but you'll only die tired.
If you hit it with a hammer and it doesn't fix it, you have an electrical problem

One should really only be happy with clean clams, the sand can be quite unpleasant  :icon_mrgreen:

Thought hopefully about it.

(Under a tarp on the street in NY, having hopefully survived Hercules' blows.)

Nice one Twisted... although apparently the new SH775 series R/R is now the way to go... series looks after your stator a lot better than the shunt or mosfet ones  :thumb:

However, anything is better than a R/R with a great big bubble on the back like that!

MosFet is the way to go. That's what we go to here at the Bike Cave.
A new MosFet is cheaper than replacing with OEM original. Even used ones are almost as expensive.

I have always used The SHINDENGEN FH020AA MOSFET  Super Mosfet Kit FH020AA from Roadster Cycle, but I just ordered on that you have just to compare (and found it was available through Amazon Prime so no shipping or tax.)

The MosFet's, being newer designs, are supposed to quietly shut off if overheated or shorted rather than fry, then turn back on.

Then add the LED idiot light.I LOVE them - so much easier to know if you have a problem than trying to read a volt meter. Use a meter for shop testing. Use the LED on the road.

Called UPS to find out why they delayed my package from adidasguy yet another day.  Was originally scheduled for Thursday, but due to the snow their truck was several hours late in getting to Hodgekins Il on Wednesday; understandable and thus was rescheduled for Friday.  Come Thursday evening it arrived at New Stanton, PA and was then rescheduled for Monday; supposedly they were backlogged.  Now yesterday evening it arrived at the destination terminal and they won't even let me pick it up today.  So Alas I'll have to wait till Monday to receive my goodies.

Also did the diode mod and installed LEDs in the cluster as well as LED tail lights.  For the tail lights, I have all red bulbs and white LED bulbs; the downside of the red ones is that the license plate doesn't get illuminated, so I may have to find a way to install dedicated LEDs for the license plate.

Edit: I think I'll either use some of blue or white LED strip lights inside the tail-light housing for the license plate ;)

230km's with Twisted today, fun back roads from Samford to Mt Mee, then up to Bellthorpe Range Rd where Twisted turned off then I headed back over Mt Mee, rolling in the drive way at 11.45... Cheers mate!

Nice to have a run on the Monster too, that torque is impressive!
