Riding Boots in EE sizes

I've seen some threads regarding riding boots in the past; however, I've never seen mentioning of wide sizing (EE)...

I have always worn wide shoes and boots including my slip-on workboots, and really haven't had 'that' much trouble finding shoes that fit in the past.  But when searching for wide sizing in riding boots, it seems I have only come up with pairs that are $250+.  Not that I mind paying out for quality and protection, but maybe I'm not looking in the right places or something?

I tried on quite a few pairs at the motorcycle show, and none of the vendors carried wide sizes on the road, and most said they simply didn't carry wide sizes... the only thing that had a close fit were the skater shoe looking ones by teknic, and I wasn't a fan of the little protection provided by them.

Anyone have any wide riding boots themselves? Know where to look? Suggestions?  .. Bueller?.. Bueller?!

I have always heard that TCX makes boots that fit people with wider feet.  Some models probably more so than others.  The X-move TCX boots that I got do not seem all that wide.  I have a very narrow foot.

I have a narrow foot as well.  They used to call my feet skis in high school.
Bikeless and Broke at the moment...

I have a pair of TCX X-Cubed. They are not especially wide, either. Not sure where you picked up that TCX ran wider... :dunno_black:
It seems it has become necessary to qualify my posts:

See I have heard this about TCX before, that they had some models that ran wider too, but when actually trying some on and asking others who have tried TCX it did not follow the rumor.  :dunno_black:

I suppose it may have been a few specific models, but I haven't run across them yet.

Maybe the X series of TCX boots don't run wide, but I have seen in several forums, reviews, and in places like revzilla video reviews that TCX boots run wider.

BockinBboy

Ah, that could be... I'll look into TCX a little more closely and see what the reviews say.  I was actually looking mostly at the X-series from them, because I don't mind the looks and they fit my criteria.  Maybe I'll branch out to the other models if the reviews on sizing leads me there.

I have wide feet too, runs in the family apparently...

And I happen to ride with TCX-boots.
Didn't really pick them specifically for that reason, just tried on a few different ones and these were the best fit.

I have a set of Jupiters.
relatively low boots (from their 'all uses' line) with a gore-tex exterior.

I bought them for my riding lessons (needed a license for my 'big' Vespa) and because I didn't know when or if I'd ever ride a 'real' motorcycle.  They do a good enough job: they've seen their share of rain without problems.  They've also survived a lowsider with my Vespa.

I might get me a second pair of higher boots that offer better protection, but these will have to do for now.

I would give RevZilla a call. Their customer service for product fitment is super helpful.

Yeah, dead thread alert...

Had completely forgot about it, and a recent thread on riding boots reminded me I never said where this went... not that anyone in particular would care, but for the diligent searchers out there LOL ;)

I ended up talking with Revzilla, and they had a couple options in the $150 range... I really can't remember what the other options were, but I do recall that the ones they offered in that range and my 'protection criteria' were not listed as wide but had a 'wider fitment' based on customer feedback.  The first pair they sent me worked out pretty well... it was Cortech Latigo Air RR

I wanted something with a toe slider (scraped up the corner of my previous boots pretty good), shin and ankle protection, air flow, and of course proper fitment... they fit the bill nicely, and almost a year later, I don't have much complaint about them at all.. a lot of features for the price... but to pick something out... the Velcro is getting worn - still grips, but I could possibly forsee it being an issue after this next season.

What is your normal wide shoe size, and what size of the boot did you get?

That is what I find most difficult with needing wide shoes. My dress shoes are 11 3E, my sneakers are 11.5 4E, my work boots are 12...

BockinBboy

My normal shoes size is 10EE and my work boot slip-ons are 9.5EE

I got size 10 in the Cortech Latigos.
