ongoing op surgeries on left foot. trying to keep it lol.(diabetic wound removal process)doc had been warning me tokeep of it idid as much as possible. guess it wasnt enough ....... :technical:those who know me know that i am NOT an idle person .ive got a cane ala Dr House, but damn gotta move faster than 1 MPH. have mothers old wheelchair, but albeit a bit gimpy left leg being 5" longer than right with cast, im not disabled. yet. found a new set of crutches @ drugstore for 34.95.this would take most of the pressure off of the foot.  OR icould do nothing pending resolutionof the procedures.  could be up to 6mos.  Any advice would greatly be appreciated .
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Regards,

I would follow your surgeons advice as much as you can mentally stand it bro! .... The better you treat your foot post op the better the recovery ....

You know your own limits with doing things around house ... Use whatever method of moving around put least impact on your recovery ...

And really.... If I were you I'd ask at your church maybe ... Or any friendly locals otherwise ... Some people to drop in here and there to just see if you have things that need assistance... Not so you don't get any peace and quiet or they feel it a chore .... But have your little support network handy..

Or ...... (And somewhat tongue in cheek) ... Contact the cable tv people.... Encourage them to do a mini show... A clean livin boys' struggle with diabetes and his place in the community! .... TV shows are real good at pickin up the tab for stuff!!  ;)

eh no problem bro!!... better out on the page and not cluttering up your head eh? ... its a way of calming the mind too... write the minds turmoil down, on paper or e-diary ... dont matter if you never refer to it again.... the brain can convince itself that the memory is 'stored' elsewhere and doesnt need to keep popping it up for you.... works on most folks...  :thumb:

Geez tough breaks bro!  .... Well .... As you know I'm not a churchy person.... (Don't have issues with any that are though... Each to their own) .... However ...

Best wishes and positive thoughts to you brother! ...  :thumb:   :)  :thumb: !!!

My ex and her mum were diabetic ... Her mum started having similar but less serious problems ... So I have a very slight idea of what you must be going through...

Eat as healthy as possible!! .... Whole foods and herbs, honey (yeah I know that's a tricky one for you, it's a hectic natural antibiotic style thing though) as much nutrition loaded stuff as you can... You're body has gotta be having a tough time as it is... Processed stuff right now is not ideal  :thumb:

Correct on eating REAL food. You need nutrition - not bulk calories from processed food stripped of all nutritional value for the sake of shelf life. Canned stuff not good. Frozen is OK if you can't get fresh.
Real fruits and vegetables. Real meat.
+1 on honey. It is also good directly on wounds.
You are what you eat.

living on very, VERY tight budget atm eggs alot eaten, still protein deficient , pot pies etc and peanut butter. this will have to do until work is found. even in cast for the near future , going to have tofind work, then getting into raw veggies and fresh fruit. that i desire. :icon_mrgreen:

get some seedlings bro!! ... dont have to be fancy garden beds or containers either.... even a cleaned paint can with reasonable dirt and some cheap fertiliser will do!! ... got old worn out boots and shoes? ... perfect herb pots!! .. lol

grow your own isnt instant ... but before too long you will have something! ... and the satisfaction of crunching into your own handywork is great too!

this guy is 'pretty fancy' with his gear .. even though its recycled pots and stuff...

but even if its winter ... you can still grow some stuff inside in a sunny window or something... just make sure you wash all the dirt and 'germs' off your hands afterwards .. you dont want to promote more infections eh!

plus its something that might give you some easy access 'activity' to help with the boredom! ..

positive thoughts at ya bro!  :thumb:

wore out my armpits learnining crutch use. slighly anemic,i had passed out after clinic today. took crutches and did laps down 30' hallway .and adjoining dining room.every time doc says "i was going over your test results and ...." iwant to  say IM PREGNANT!or something. wished id have found out these issues earlier.
course prior to jan 1 iwasnt insured. and the almost wagner4 toe ulcer wasnt anything.and i had no problems. these problems cannot be undone . progression can be slowed though. one thing i forgot to ask doc about is thehard time swallowing food sometimes . guess its ok.
besides , makes me look fwd to fresh fruit like kiwi, or peaches even more.

heart issue last night.my resting rate is 82bpm.   was watching youtube. it paused for 3secs, then went to 140bpm. not the first time this has happened this lasted5 mins slowed down, got extremely fatigued, and went to bed .least now i know its potential cause. had md paid attn a year ago, might have been able to slow progression down, course they also said nothing was wrong with foot too lol. :technical:
