This post is not about the bikes capabilities but GPS capabilities ...

I have used the Garmin 'method' also .... Just not on those speed tests.... Keep in mind though ... Depending on what satellites are feeding data (and from there what your location accuracy is) ,whether you are tracking around a corner or going level OR up/down enough of a slope in the road ... There can be and usually is a +/- 1 km/mp/h error .... Very small error for our purposes but it's there....

Now I don't know all the brands of GPS function ... But on nearly every Garmin .... The 1st main screen where it shows you your signal strength 'bars' .... Hold your finger on the little bars for a few seconds .. And it will open up another menu display ...

Shows a graphic of what and how many satellites are available (plus gives a kinda sketchy relative position to you) ... And down the bottom it will show you your current range of accuracy of position in metres or feet ... And that can vary from 3 metres to 10 metres in most normal operation that I have seen ....

When the gps is just starting up it can be much more than that ... And similarly in CBD areas of cities with lots of big buildings or structure around you OR on country roads with lots of heavy tree branches overhead it can also be more...common Road vehicle GPS is accurate enough for most use... But it has it's own small errors.....  :thumb:

On a lot of bikes, 6th is geared for low cruising RPM. With the GS500, 5th is going to tend to produce better top speed.

Basically every vehicle transmission is set up such that the high gear is an overdrive for higher speed cruising; 1 gear below that is typically close to a 1:1 gear ratio making it best suited for reaching top speed.
