Gday all, first off, I haven't been here in awhile...along while.

To make a long story short, I have a 2008 GS500F which has been sitting idle outside but covered in only an old tarp. She has been sitting for just over two years. I will grab some pics as I visit her today. Kinda hurts to visit her as it has been awhile.

So besides getting a new battery, I will check a few other bits and pieces, post photos, and ask dumb questions.

Never done this before with a vehicle of any kind and would appreciate feedback as I go.

Thanks for your time and will post again with some pics soon.

p.s: will try scouring the forum on some stuff so I'm not asking questions previously asked.

Cheers,

Charvel

Check the gas tank and carb bowls and lines. Probably old gunked up gas in there. Shouldnt be too difficult to, especially if you drained your tank and carbs before hand.

Good luck! Pictures are always welcomed here and gstwin  :D
I am into buying bikes that people have given up on and fixing them up!

RIP Patrick Lajko, I miss you man.

Thanks Jacob, she has had a lot of downtime and sitting out in the weather since a divorced (Not much caqsh as lots of time and $$ spent with solicitors).

No problem, make sure you post any questions you have here as someone is bound to have an answer. Also, best to post some pictures so we can satisfy our addiction for that much longer  :icon_eek:

So, I finally uncovered the GS completely today. The rubber snake was my brothers way of being funny!

Went to Battery world, bought a new battery for $67.

I am currently trying to move her from her current location to my place. I am hoping to drain the fuel and clean her up a bit tomorrow.

Sorry about the big blurry pics

Ok .. Big blurry pics .... With the first bracket removed so it doesn't try to work ... And the modifier to resize in red

img width=640]whatever your http link is[/img]

You do need a space after the first img .. But then none till the end! Unless the link info has one in there!

The 640 can be any number really ... It's max pixel width.. Which forces the depth to conform also... Use 800 or 480 or 532 if you want ... But I tend to keep to the 'old standard' image sizes ... Easier to remember roughly how big they will be

Thanks Janx, much appreciated

Will do this for following pics.
