After all that passage clearing, the rejet and the scrubbing and new prime fuel line. I still have that weird struggle to get past 3k rpm while warming up. With choke on its completely fine. I guess im still running a little lean. Quick question.. Is it bad to set rpm at 2k or a little higher. When I open the throttle slowly with choke off I have no problem with rpm. Is that normal?

I actually set the idle closer to 2k ... its better for oil pressure etc etc ...
Struggle to get past 3k - OK you're talking about a gentle take off without peeling rubber ?
The Reason could be that you're rich down low ...

The reason you may be rich with 40's is that you have float a shade high, or you have a bit of a choked air flow with a filter that's a bit dirty etc ... Lean problems in that range will let the idle hover ... rich = problem @ take off.
Cool.

could too much air filter oil choke up air flow? Because I cleaned and oiled my air filter.

I was told a gs doesn't moving until about 3k. But the symptoms disappear after warm up

He he I did say that, however it should not struggle in 1st to get to 3k once rolling.
It sorta is gutless ... but it can run without that coughy coughy feel.

When cold it is a fools errand to try to fix jetting. You're not supposed to take off till it holds idle at your set rpm.

However you're supposed to get to that point in 1 min in winter and 30 sec in summer. You are also supposed to be able to get the clutch feathered etc etc and get rolling and once you're @ 2k in 1st, you should be able to pull to 3k and beyond.

In effect they say @ 2k you should be able to whack the throttle open and it should pull ... except, in a GS the slides rise too fast and it will fall on its face ... so I'd say open gently and you should make 3-4-5k to redline by doing a slow open just keeping ahead of the rpm.
