Weird petcock thing I noticed

When reassembling everything for a test start after carb cleaning and rejet, I installed a transparent prime fuel line. So I put the petcock on the prime position and watched the gas flow but it had air bubbles in it and seemed like it stopped flowing 3/4 of the way there. Not thinking anything of it I went ahead and tried to start it anyway and nothing. But when I played around with the petcock I noticed I wasn't fully in prime. My prime position is actually halfway between reserve and prime. Has anyone else noticed that or do I just have a bad petcock?

You could have reassembled it wrong. Maybe you got the white cone in backwards? Hard to see - but there is a big and small side to that place where the lever goes in to it.
If right, nothing can be wrong because prime is just a straight opening from the reserve input to the gas out to the carbs.

On a side note make sure you reuse the hose sleeves, they will save your hoses from chaffing, you might, want to clean your petcock

I've never taken my my petcock apart. I've only removed the fuel lines from it. I've removed it to blow out the passages when I suspected it was clogged but that's about it

The metal clip can be removed to take out the innerds and clean it. Don't unscrew the back.

I haven't and I won't now that I know
