I want to put rear foot pegs on my bike since i have new front foot pegs on. Im looking for pegs that are close to a good fit. I can do a little grinding if necessary. They need to be able to fold up. any ideas?

You can use gsxr pegs just like these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Suzuki-GSXR-600-750-1000-2006-2014-Rear-Foot-Pegs-Passenger-Footrests-Black-/360868546452?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5405710794&vxp=mtr

They will need to be filed down a little bit, I did mine with a hand file. It is quite self explanatory when you get them. However, you can kind of tell by the pictures in that ebay listing, the ends where the rod/pivot pin goes through must be completely round, cause the left peg for the GSXR is the right peg for the GS and the right is for the left. So, you have to shave down the square edge to match the other side pretty much. And then you have to drill a hole and put a cotter pin or a small bolt in for a stopper so that the peg stops at the desired spot.
I am into buying bikes that people have given up on and fixing them up!

LSL makes direct fitting trear pegs.
You buy a pair of the peg mounts for GS500 (any year) then select the pegs you want on them. I have them on 3 bikes.
OEM are available, too. I should have extras.

+1 those foot pegs would be the best alternative, but unless patrick gives you a super steal, the gsxr pegs are the most cost efficient foot peg mod. Either way it will look better than the large rubber stockers.
