Argh. my photo was too large , i went back everything was deleted.  I have to start over.  and spam questions...suzuli makes four wheel vehicals called.  Not quad ?

So, I replace the handlebars with EMGO wide black magna bars $26.
I replaced the grips with MotorcycleSuperstore grips $7
The stock fairing mirrors only showed my shoulders....It seems the GS500F has the same contro;s as the GS500 so
there are threads for mirrors.  I install conventional mirrors with Mirror extenders.  $17 from China / Ebay.
I had to reroute the throttle cable and removed the throttle return cable.
Also, rerouted the choke cable.  Both cables would move the throttle and choke when I would turn the bars all the way.
Now I can see behind me, and Way more comfortable than stock.

steve  6'4" 250lbs.

If you find the bike too short you can install a katana 600 shock and sonic front springs. Those two things just from stopping the sag raised my bike at least two inches.

Is that the only reason why people install new shocks on these bikes for height? Or does it add any other benefit

sdanville

one of two. the other reason is to stiffen it up.

The katana shock is two-way adjustable and is much stiffer than the stock shock. I'm 240lbs and the bike was unridable with my weight on it with the stock suspension. With the katana 600 rear shock and .90 sonic springs with 15w fork oil it is perfect. I would even go with 20w fork fluid if I were to do it again.

These two things and an R6 throttle tube were the most worthwhile modifications I've done far!

Stock springs and 20w Fuchs changed my front end considerably and Im 125kgs....need to get a better rear end shock as the stock one is quite soft

I'm only 6'2" at 215lbs. and I still had to get these for extra legroom:

Fix it until it's broke.
