Hey guys,

I wanted to know if any of you guys have rebuild your rear master cylinders ? After riding a few miles I lose my rear break and have to pump it up. It could my caliper as well wont get a chance to look at until Monday.

FYI: I did a fluid flush with dot4 2 months ago and had no issues until this past week...... So some thing is up.

Jimbob

is the fluid going down indicating a leak?

Don't bother rebuilding master cylinders, it's cheaper just to buy a newer 2nd hand one off eBay or another member

No the fluid level hasn't changed, however the rubber seal on the master cylinder was popped out indicating air in the system. Blead the system, and it  popped out again but no fluid on from the caliper or the master. I guess the first thing to replace would be the bleed screw? Any one know the size on it ?

Well I lucked out, I ebay came though for me again or so I think, I got a MC, HOSES, Reservoir, caliper, foot rest, mounting plate and pads off of a 2009 for $30.... It should be interesting to see how this plays out  :dunno_black:

The only reason why I would of liked to rebuild so it would have new seals rather than 7 year old seals and possible dry rotted or cracked, I'm crossing my fingers that its all good though.
