Hi folks,

I been looking for OEM clutch kits (buying all the bits individually is obviously an option but runs around 200$ it seems)

Any recommendations on sources? I am in North America.

i use partzilla but there is a number of oem suzuki parts websites you can use.

Thanks rexpepper, is that for the individual items or for the kits?
I could not find any kits on their site.

IIRC EBC/Barnett kits (standard/kevlar) for the '99-'02 SV650 fit the GS. Just a thought, the EBC Kevlar Kit on ebay is cheaper than an OEM Kit at my dealer

You can find complete used clutches on amazon and ebay, too.

May I ask why you need a new clutch? For a while I thought I need one, but then realized somebody put wrong springs in and cut a random piece of steel rod to replace the original pushrod (and never adjusted its freeplay). Replaced the two and the clutch runs like new.

People report here over 100k miles on OEM clutch without replacing anything. Maybe you only need an adjustment?

Wow.  That's good to know.  I'm not having any clutch issues but it's always nice to know how long various parts last on average.  Certainly can't complain too much about 100K service life.

Hi all, the clutch was slipping badly when I used the rear brake to lock the engine when removing the rotor bolt.

However testing the clutch with the bike now running it easily stalls the engine so I am maybe looking for problems that don't exist.

A little bit of clutch slippage is normal, think about it your easily able to disengage it with the pull of a hand lever.

Just make sure its adjusted right and you wont have problems, you'll know if you do.
