Hey all,

I've been reading on this forum for a while now and used some of the mod information to my advantage.  Here below is my 1990 GS500E with around 15K miles.  Behind it you will see its older sister the 1992 GSF400 Bandit.

You can already see that without much delay, I hacked at the whale tail, shortened the rear stalks, and rotated the reflectors to be parallel with the fairings.  It already has a K&N lunchbox, Re-Jet, and Yoshimura Exhaust on it.

I am currently trying to shorten the stalks on the front lights also, but I'm not sure how they come off of the lighting plates.  They look like rubber grommets, but I'm not inclined to just continue pulling on them until I'm sure that's how they are removed.  Any help here?

I'm also trying to paint the frame a flat black with the tank/fairings a Subaru blue (if you guys are familiar with Subaru's trademark blue).

My only problem with this bike is that the seat is highly unappealing to me.  I want to have a solo-seat appearance with a "cowl" for a secondary seat if needed.  I've seen the "gunfighter" Corbin seats which I think would look nice, but a $500 seat for a $1800 bike is outrageous.  I've seen a rear fairing on one of adidasguy's pictures that looked nice.  I want to keep this bike looking as "stock" as possible without that aspect.  I appreciate how it looks overall already, but the extended seat really reminds me of a moped.

Any suggestions would really be appreciated.  Thanks all.  This community seems pretty awesome from the post's I've been reading.

P.s.  Are these captcha codes hard for everyone else to read too?

Golly

Moped...hahaha sexiest lookin moped in my opinion if thats what you think it is.... I would kill for my 90 to look like that. That paint scheme is my favourite. Mine was originally red but cant go back now thanks to the previous owner grrr
