Hey, I have been looking for some nice saddlebags for my 04gs500F. These look really nice. Do you find that they can hold a good amount of clothes If I wanted to take a nice road trip? Also, do they get in the way if you are riding with someone on the back?

Here's an 80L duffle bag for comparison. Might be a bit less since you split it 50/50, but they should hold quite a bit. I'll know more after this coming weekend's first trek with them. They wouldn't work well with a pillion rider. My gimbel rear passenger pegs are moved to compensate for the rearset, but you can see in the photo the way i have them mounted they completely cover the pegs.

Thanks Steeze. I think I am going to have to purchase them sometime in the very near future. Good luck with the ride and let me know how it goes with them.

Ouch Brick. Not a good start to the day! :dunno_white:

I got my rear LED lights up and going late Saturday so riding to work today was really the first time I used them out on the road.. never looked better signaling for a turn   :thumb:

Ran her out of gas for the first time. Stuck in a parking lot for a hour at 2am waiting for my girlfriend to bring me a gallon of gas. Not frustrating at all lol. Gotta get used to this no fuel gauge thing.

Did a valve adjustment. Screwed it up so now it won't run. Gotta wait for new shims now and hope they work.

It worked out for the best because it gave me the motivation to get my Nighthawk running.  :thumb:

Which LED lights did you get?

Put on some nice wheel decals and a lifeproof handlebar mount so I can use my iPhone for GPS.
Anybody have a recommendation for a USB port to keep phone on charge while riding?

I have done a few valve adjustments. Is there something you did to break the valves in some way? maybe we on the forum can help you.

No I keep it on "on". I didn't know what was happening when I ran out. Never switched it over to reserve.

oops sorry that's what I meant. Prime or ON haha.

As I have learned many a time. its best to keep it pointed towards "ON". Prime will run you dry.

Easiest option I have found is a simple SAE to USB adaptor.  Uses a standard battery tender harness connecting to the battery, then adapts to a USB.  Cheapest I have found is the one sold by Deltran brand 'Battery Tender' for about $12... otherwise next cheapest I found is $20 from most other brands...

Here is the thread I had on my phone setup.  It has a video on the 3rd page that shows the USB adaptor I used too.

I've always liked olive drab/tan combos on bikes. Very utilitarian. Have you thought what you're gonna do with the wheels?

was thinking of the desert tan aswell, and the frame is what I meant for the tan not the tank the tank will be black. so all the frame the tan body a two tone of black n drab, going to paint the chrome aswell. it looks good in my head hopefully it comes out good on the bike  O0

Awesome timing and an awesome little gadget!! Thanks for posting, purchasing one for me and my pops. I had a bit of a learning experience riding to 12+hours to Myrtle beach bike week and back. I'll have to type it all up later when I get some down time
