getting the bike ready for paint was hoping on riding it and getting the carbs dialed in this weekend but as i was taking the front wheel off to get the fender off i came across this ( pic below) broken front axle. 
ive seen a couple on ebay for bout 10 bucks some for around 20. partzilla has em for bout 30 plus another 11 dollars for the castle nut. do all yr gs500's come with the same front axle and would it be safe to get a used one off ebay? thanks again gs'rs!

exactly. if it aint broke or bent or stripped, its fine. only thing I try not to re-use are head bolts that have been torqued. because they stretch. wellllll, I might re- use once. but the axle that is HUGE so I don't see this being a problem.
