I have been droolling over the Honda Interceptor but the new 750 Aero is sharp.  So many bikes, so little time.

i have been thinking of getting another bike. i was riding around this weekend when i saw a bike for sale on the side of the road. i busted a u-turn and rode by the bike. this is when is saw the word 'Buell' on it . i just kept on riding. no way will i drive a harley dressed like a sport bike. i want a bike that will run on a consistant basis. god, i hate those buells.  :nana:

i want a kawasaki zx-6rr the most. followed by the honda cbr 600, and then the yamaha r6. whatever i get, i want it to be made in japan. god bless america but japan has got my business in the motorcycle sector.
my GS is driven like it's stolen.

I'm in pablo's situation.  Already got mine.  went up to a 2001 R6.  its a kickarse bike.  Handles like a dream and it is sooo powerful I can't get my head wrapped around how you could ever need a litre.  The power is positively INTOXICATING.  I really am enjoying it, but I find that it sometimes draws the wrong kind of attention.  I ride safely, but I still get road-ragers yelling at me for doing things all the other cars on the road are doing, too.  I've even had people scream at me to "SLOW DOWN!!!!" when I'm going the speed limit!    So one of these days I'll probably move to something a little less flashy.

My next bike will be NEW, or at the very least BONE STOCK.  I bought my 6 used and modded out from an aquaintance of mine, so I thought I was being smart buying from someone I know, but I still find little ticks and problems every once in a while from the work he did... so basically I'm slowly returning the bike to stock... why pay for that?!  :dunno:

I'm actually thinking about moving to an SV (650/s or 1000/s, not sure yet, time and finances will tell) in a year or two.  The 600s are awesome, but I find myself riding less and less out in the twisties and more in town where a twin would get the job done much better.

I really, really just want to get a GS500F so I can do a write up and continue on this board.

That's all right. You could continue based just on your "Princely" insights.

Triumphs are nice bikes. Ridden a TT600 (Daytona 600 is better) and ridden with 955i's. The TT600 is a nice bike - very different from ours, quite a lot faster, so much more stable in the corners (I don't have the suspension mods), but much less user friendly. As for the 955i's, people love em just for the triples, but they stay because they have plenty enough power, great delivery and very very nice handling. The fact I couldn't pull away from a 955i with a pillion in tight twisty stuff was a revelation...
I'm looking at an SV650 (no too likely), '98 ZX6R (very likely), YZF600 or perhaps a triumph sprint ST or Daytona 955i (unlikely to find a second hand one in my price range). I'm mainly interested in a bike that can handle 2-up, sporty, looks the part and can tour a bit. Oh, and can take decent rubber. Pretty much all the ultra-modern sports bikes can't do the commute very well, otherwise I'd be looking much harder at the R6, GSXR600 and CBR600 (probably F4). Litre sportsbikes seem to be way too much power for me and my license to handle.
If a latish model GSXR750 comes up at the right price (and I've seen some lately) then I might be pursuaded otherwise.
If only they made an SV800S, I think I could choose right now.

knut's96gs500

Well I wasn't planning on upgrading so soon, but this GS1000 kinda fell in my lap and the price was WAAAYYY right.  One of the guys at the navy base that I work at wanted to get rid of it so he could get a new sports bike.  He was asking $200 for it, and it runs.  It needs a paint job and some serious TLC.  But like I said, for the price I couldn't pass it up.
So now I have a BIG GS and a Babby GS!!!!!!!!!! :)
:P
I am definately going to keep the GS500, it's  just too much fun to ride!!!
:P
So now I get to flip a coin every morning to decided which one I am going to ride to work.  Darn the luck!!! LOL  :thumb:

i've been really looking hard at the bandit 1200s.  i know it's a big jump from the 500, but one of my riding buddies had a 600 bandit for his first bike and quickly outgrew it. :?   i like the sport touring set up of the 1200s, but have yet to ride anything that powerful.  anyone made that kind of jump?
he is able who thinks he his able.
