Hey,

I broke my old choke cable(tried to open tightening mechanism and it just snaps broken  ).
And now i got my replacement from ebay and I did replace it wihthout taking gastank off.
The problem is that its too tight. Like choke lever moves maybe 1 cm only and rpm is too high.
I did have the same problem even with the old cable when i took it off so i guess its only matter of routing, does anyone have picture of correct routing or is this cable just too short.

And for someone reading this:
There are different sizes even they say it fits, it doesn't fit every model. Local dealer ordered me the correct one.

You replaced the choke cable without removing the gas tank   

That's like getting a flat tire, Jack-hammering the road under the wheel to give you enough room to put on the spare, and then patching the pot-hole you made - just so you wouldn't have to jack up the tire.

Mmmhmm. . Gastank removal. .. undo 2 bolts at back under tank onto frame, lift tank slightly, turn tank petcock off with long screwdriver, ease hoseclamps off and gently pull hoses off... lift tank away from bike and put somewhere safe. .. 5 min job max. ..... for open easy access?! ... winner winner chicken dinner!

Yeah haha, first time I did it that way. Now I had my bike disassembled.. carburator cleanup and valve shim change.. So yeah it was BIT EASIER Anyways best way to learn is to do it wrong first time
