missed the opportunity for a project build so straight to the present day and voila...
bought the purple beast (Photos to follow) off the well known auction website in 2011 for cheap as cheaps, intending to be a commuter hack as my aprilia tuono was a little 'extreme' and costly to bimble the 30 and 40mph speed limit roads (honest...!) through south london.

got fed up with the tatty look, undersprung front end, torn seat and rusty tank, did some bits over the next 2 years and in no particular order..
painted plastics black
sealed tank (twice) resulting in only 13.5l capacity..!!
added r6 can and rejetted to suit - reckon i can strip the carbs blindfolded now..!
upgraded front brake to ebc disc, braided line better pads
installed hagon (i think) front springs
fitted r6 rear shock
did the 4.5" rear wheel swap
did the katana front end swap

and now to the present day after 9 months buried in the garage.. just wanted to make it all a bit more, well ..nicer, cleaner, tidier to look at....soo....

got rid of old style seat and added a triumph street triple seat - of course had to mod the rear frame to accommodate it
added newer style fuel tank - seat and tank fit together nice, I like the monster seat, but wanted to  do something a bit different.

dropped in the vfr400 nc30 single sided swinger, which I painstakingly sanded smooth and polished after rebuilding and re-greasing
added braided rear brake line internally routed through swing arm
painted rear wheel, polished lip added new rubber

added a customised cbr1000rr underseat exhaust, made up the pipework from manifold back, after gutting, shortening and rewelding the box, sounds glorious :twisted:

repainted front wheel

powder coated the frame black once all welding mods were done

made the headlight brackets, painted then black along with headlight bowl

realigned the rear sprocket by modding the front sprocket to throw it outwards a 'bit', its off set about 8mm
needed to mod the clutch arm to clear it

modded the mounts to fit my old aprilia rear sets - modded the gear shift to fit, can go either gp or std shift pattern now

polished front fork lowers after repairing a drain screw de-thread moment

cut and polished ally side panels

custom made battery box and undertray

rewired rear loom to include...
added LED rear light incorporating rear brake light as well
added rear LED strip indicators
added front custom mounts to HL bowl for front LED strip indicators

and now some photos.....

is a bit late to do a build diary, but if anyone has any questions let me know, more than happy to help....

engine remains untouched hence a bit tatty as have other ideas for it, next mods will be electronic dash, flush switches and possible head light swap

cheers

Whoa! Now that's some work.

This causes me to further lament the lack of a plug and play 8 valve head for our bikes.

Wow what a nice build! I love it!
I may try a simular swingarm myself some day!
Respect for your work.
