I have been looking at racks until my eyes are sore. But they all seem just a little too expensive for me. (I am defiantly a cheap skate). This rack is made of 16mm box and attaches to the sissy bar. Total cost of Box section and paint was about $35.00. I already had cut off wheel and welding rods.  Time wise took about 6 hours to make and about 1/2 hour to paint plus drying time. The rack looks tall but is made to suit a backpack I already had. If it needs more strength (don't think it will need bracing) I will run more box off the pillion pegs.
