So whwnni go to tuen on my bike, there's white smoke coming off of the exhaust. not out of it, off of it. I have oil leaking around my kickstand, figured it was just thw shifter shaft. its done this before, but not anywhere near this much.
should I worry about this, or would it go away once the leak(s) are fixed?

Usually "white" smoke is "steam"  or water burning off and condensing....
do you have water on exhaust, under shroud?

I get white smoke out of exhaust during initial start up and warm up during damp weather conditions...goes away once everything is all warmed up.

Oil usually burns blue...sometime hard to tell white from blue........

Water burning off has a distinct smell...oil has another distinct smell...

Oil leaking onto hot exhaust is a bad thing...you should fix....

Sometimes oil around the kickstand comes from oil on the chain which flings off, and seems to collect under that cover plate for the front sprocket, and then drips down...makes you think engine has oil leak when it doesn't.

Whenever I do oil change, I seem to drip oil onto the exhaust, when changing filter.....I try to wipe up, but always some remains and smokes and smells for a short time, but soon goes away..
