Hey guys, I have been trying to finish my project that has taken way to long. The bike has been together for a month now and I have been riding it everyday but there are two issues that have come up.

First is that I have developed an oil leak from the rubber center plug of the cam chain tensioner. During the rebuild of this bike I changed the two gaskets of the tensioner since I had a leak there before taking the bike apart. Now, after about 300 miles on it since the rebuild, its leaking from the plug and I can see it bubble out of the plug when I rev the engine in neutral. I don't think oil is even supposed to be there is it? Should I just get a new tensioner or is there a way to repair this.

My second problem is a hesitation between 5 to 7k rpm during acceleration especially when cold. I added a lunchbox and Delkevic slip on along with re jetting to 40 pilot, 150 main, 1 washer and about 3 turns as per the re jetting matrix on the wiki. The bike seems good otherwise so I wonder if I should just add another washer/shim to the needles?

Thanks for the help everyone, couldn't have been able to get my bike together without this forum. Hopefully I'll get some pics up in the builds section soon of the bike.

add another washer for the hesitation.
Thanks reload, I'm planning on trying that out this weekend.

Anyone have any idea about the oil leak through the cam chain tensioner?

through it, as in the little cover that covers the spring?
or under it? most likely bad chain tensioner gasket. there is one there after all.  O0

I changed both gaskets when I was rebuilding the bike. The oil comes from around the rubber plug that's in the center of the tensioner.
