OK-

So I've had trouble with my '01 for a little while now.  I had it jetted and dyno tuned after I installed a full exhaust, k&n pods, and advancer.  However, it was not done right, so I decided to fix it myself.  I sourced the correct jets (#20 bleed pilot, 67.5 intermediate, 147.5 main) and put it back together.  It ran great for about 20 miles, then crapped out.  A twist of the throttle yeilded no addittonal revs.  

Today, I took the carbs apart, and checked to see that the diaphragms were OK and made sure the mixture screws were 3.5 turns out.  It started and ran for a little while, but just quit and wouldn't start again.  What am I missing?  The hose from the right carb goes to the fuel petcock, and I think that the fuel hoses are right.  It will not run on either pri or on.  So I guess that I'm stuck for now.  Thanks for your help.

The hose should go to the left carb, unless its different on the 01

1.  Fill the gas tank (even if you can see gas in there through the fuel filler)
2. Check that there is gas in the float bowls (loosen the drain plug and see if gas comes out) If not, put the petcock in prime and then try again.  If still no fuel, check the petcock on the bottom of the tank. Lots of times when the tank is removed and replaced this petcock is forgotten or not turned fully "on" - even a small deviation from full open will give you a problem.  Full open is in line with the metal fuel tubes - off is 90 degrees from that.  Turn it too far and you just turned it off again.
3. Check if you are getting spark.

4. Try new plugs or clean up and re-gap the old ones just for the heck of it if they look the least bit fouled

5. Check the hoses again

There is fuel in the bowls, and the plugs are brand new.  I'll check for spark though, but since I touched the carbs and not ignition I think the problem is in the carbs themselves.
