Finally gettin around to remove the purple decals of my gs and find that they clear coated over the decals! Is this factory, or did a pervious owner in the past maybe do this? I wasn't planning on sanding and repainting the whole thing, but I suppose I will be now

Petty sure it is like that from the factory.

Seeing that we have a Subject titled  "Damn stickers (Suzuki decals)"...

WARNING Sticker Removal... THIS DOES NOT WORK IF YOU STICKERS ARE CLEAR COATED FROM THE FACTORY!!!

Use Lighter Fluid/Naptha or GOOF Off on a patch about the same size as the sticker..to soften the clear protective coating on the sticker, around 20-30 minutes. Keep it damp buy adding a drop or two at the top as needed, you don't want excess solvent running off the patch, quickly wipe up any excess before it goes where you can't get to it.

Pick at a corner and get under the protective film and peel it away

Once the clear protective film is gone the sticker will soften up in a matter of seconds. To remove sticker adhesive residue, soften the Goo with another Lighter Fluid/Naptha soaked patch for about a minute or less.

Wax/Polish area and enjoy not having to look at the Warning Sickers  :thumb:

So, who's got a good paint process thread?! I've never done it but I can't imagine there's much to it.

Janx101

.... not much to it?! ... all depends on your particular brand of OCD ! Lol ... if you don't mind average paint result then it's easy... if you want primo result then you spend some solid time repairing and preparing the surface .  Until even a babies bottom looks rough in comparison. .. then you get to paint! ;)

Janx101, I am a tad particular in detail so it'll be baby's ass comparable. Also, I'm going to look at an FZ6 this week so about as soon as I get er cleaned up with a fresh tune and new chain and sprocket, I will most likely be putting it on the market. '93 E with GPR exhaust, F16 touring windscreen, shortened signal stalks and no other mods. She's a beauty, and runs like a top. Whatya y'all think is a good asking price to start?
