I found this topic (http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=41597.msg467736#msg467736) But it was suggested I start a new topic instead of replying. My question is, has anybody bypassed this relay altogether? From what I can gather it's function is to allow/disallow current to the ignition? Seeing as both my clutch switch and sidestand switches have been bypassed isn't it easier to just remove the thing altogether? Thanks.

I wouldn't bypass the sidestand relay, it's there for a reason.
Just think about forgetting about your sidestand, then a left turn comes... ouch!
That swich saved my s**pid a$$ a couple times already.

Ride it like a 2 stroke:
1: Rev high
2: Add oil
3: Repeat

the clutch sensor.. yeah if you're into good habits.

but the kickstand safety switch. NOPE NOPE NOPE. don't bypass that. I've see idiots ride down the road after sitting at traffic lights with their kick stands down.. I've even seen one make a left turn and eat pavement. it was bonus points because of the leather vest, t-shirt under with the sleeves cut, jeans, work boots, and a brain bucket... he got to see first hand how good pavement feels at 30mph. and I got to feel good about seeing one of those Har--- well you know, crash.

Don't bypass the side stand relay... PO bypassed mine (along with the center stand). I've twice taken off while forgetting about the side stand. Luckily, nothing bad has happened. The first time it kicked itself right back up into position and the second I immediately pulled over and kicked it up. It's just not worth the hassle and I'm looking into possibly reconnecting it.
