Is that third picture a defect in the powdercoat?

nope it's just glossy as hell! that's the reflection of the blinds. The casting it how ever very rough even after sand blasting, they never intended to use this piece as the focus point as it goes under the top plate.

So glossy it could blind you. Those are some nice pieces. I'll be considering them.
