So, I've been thinking about the path of engine oil in the F model.
I know the cavity the oil filter sits in is pressurized by the oil pump, of course. Now from the outside, it looks like the oil cooler is receiving oil coming from the bottom of this cavity, which is unfiltered. Judging by the design of the F oil pan, some areas of the engine are getting their oil flow through the cooler.
Would someone with a bit more practical knowledge enlighten me if I'm wrong, please? Because if what I said is right, that would mean something in the back of my engine is getting unfiltered oil by design :cookoo:
Now I'm sure the engineers at Suzuki wouldn't do something like this, I just need some peace of mind.

Ride it like a 2 stroke:
1: Rev high
2: Add oil
3: Repeat

half of that cavity is filtered and the other half unfilterd, (on each side of the filter)  it is sure that the feed comes from the filtered side.

The shop mnauals show a nice oil flow chart, not sure if there is one for the F models though....
You think Pyrrhic victory is bad you should try Pyrrhic defeat!
