Anyone have a contact cover (ride side of engine on the clutch cover) for an 89 model in decent condition that they would be willing to part with? Mine is cracked from the previous owner putting it down and I live in Juneau so I need one that is water tight.

This part original or all copies there of, have a rear ward facing hole. They need to have that to let the crank seals not pressurize from the outside due to water or air expansion under heat/humidity etc etc.

My cover has the "Suzuki" sticker removed and there is about a square inch of the cast metal piece that cracked out near that hole. Is this fine if water gets inside under the cover? Is putting gorilla tape over the central hole and the cracked out piece a bad idea?

Oh no that aint no vent, that a hole bro. Tape it, yea no harm taping that. Probably bad if water gets in ... though, it may not be all that bad right away. It should stay dry ... mostly.

The vent is on the back facing your ankle as it were, and its tiny. Like a pencil point size.

Dude - look you need that contact cover I made 10 years ago, and was trying to buy for sentimental value. You need it for real world value, not sentimental. Buy that - $2 is a steal, it was $40 when I made and sold em. And they are worth 2 X that.

Hey Buddha,

I did contact him about it, but then I looked on ebay and it looks like the '89 cover is different from the 96 cover. My damaged part is just the circular part with the "suzuki" emblem.

I must have missed his pictures the first time I looked at the post. It looks like his stator cover is what I am looking for.
