Hi just bought a gs400e suposedly identical to the gs500e except for the engine so i was wondering if you guys could help me get a start as to making it better cosmeticly speaking i really have no idea where to begin? :)

Iarn

First, start with some pics and post 'em up here. We'd all love to see your new baby, and we'd be able to help you out with suggestions if we knew what we're working with. Then again, that could just be me. :P

Big Rich

Agreed! Pictures of its current state and what you're wanting to do would be a good start.

Where are you from Enrico? I don't believe the GS400E was sold in the US market....

And if it's Canadian it could technically be a GSX400E which is a two valve per cylinder motor... you can tell by the rectangular cam end caps instead of circular...

Here Pete, you may not have seen this (scroll down towards the bottom):

Suzuki put a 400 into their GS500 for a short amount of time. I've never seen one, so I'm curious if that is what Enrico has.

peteGS

Wow I never knew that Rich!

And yes going by that photo that definitely looks like a GS500... but with a 400 in there, very cool.

We only ever had the GS500's here...

So where do you guys suggest o begin?

Big Rich

It's hard for us to say by one picture... have you looked thru the wiki here on the Twins site? There's lots of ideas and info in there.

And when you link pictures from Photobucket, copy and paste the IMG code.

I agree with Big Rich; I also suggest looking at the GStwins wiki and looking at the upgrades section. Really helpful for ideas.

The good news is you have a white bike with no decals, that's practically a blank slate to do whatever you like.

peteGS

Probably the biggest question is... what sort of look do you want? Stock with a few cosmetic touch ups? Street fighter? Cafe? Chopper? Bobber? Rat bike?

Lots of options :D

Well thats another thing my knolyge of the options you guys mentioned is verry limited so some lessons on the subject might be a good place to start sorry for any gramar and or spelling errors I am Afrikaans haha thanks.

peteGS

I would just get on Google images and search for what I mentioned, you'll get a pretty good idea pretty quickly from that :)

I missed another style... Scrambler... dunno how I missed that one!!

Try looking and reading through other user's project threads here, too. I've done some simple changes in my thread and others have done some more involved work on their bikes, as well. Look around the Projects section. Some sexy bikes on this forum, for sure.
