Hi everybody.  Ok so if you are like me, you love scrolling through people's projects and pictures... ya love seeing ways they improvise when there is no pre-set way of doing something (or the pre-set way isn't good enough.)

I used to be on Cardomain quite frequently, years ago before they completely changed the whole format and that's where I'd post what I was working on when it came to my cars.  When they changed the format I said screw this and didn't feel like messing with it anymore.

What I am getting at is that I still would like to share what I am doing... to get feedback and also help other people see different ways of doing things.  I was wondering if anybody here would care enough to see or scroll through a car project thread?

I KNOW I know this is a BIKE forum but Idk... I'd personally love to see more of people's projects, no matter what they are (work around the house, cars, trucks, anything anybody works on).

Thanks for reading!
Superbike bars, '04 GSXR headlight & cowl, DRZ signals, 1/2" fork brace, 'Busa fender, stainless exhaust & brake lines, belly pan, LED dash & brake bulbs, 140/80 rear hoop, F tail lens, SV650 shock, Bandit400 hugger, aluminum heel guards & pegs, fork preload adjusters, .75 SonicSprings, heated grips

I'd say the Odds and Ends section is the place for it right now.... unless a mod adds another section for "other projects".

That being said, many other cycle forums I am on do have a devoted section for different projects. It might be good here as well.

That's a cool idea Rich, I didn't even think of adding a new section for other projects!

Yes for sure Odds and Ends section is the place for things like that right now... I was just wondering if people that visit here would even be interested in other projects besides bike stuff.  I know I would but I'm only one person  :icon_razz:

I'll have no idea what piece you're referring to unless you include one of the following: Doobly doo, thing-a-ma-jigger, or dibbledy dop.

ShowBizWolf

Thanks for the reply mennobike, I appreciate it!!   :D

4 days later, 40 views and only 2 replies... I kinda figured it would go this way and that's why I didn't waste time uploading pics and doing a whole project thread if nobody was interested.  :technical:

Guess we will just keep it to bikes and I will hafta get my other project kicks elsewhere  :icon_razz:

Booooooo Showbiz!

Seriously though, one of the reasons I post project threads is to have details online in case I need to go back and look at something. I say go for it..... the subscribers will follow.

What kind of car is it, anyway?

awwwww  :icon_sad: I wanted car projects! You could post a link, it would be easier to upload and those who wanted could still see it  :thumb:

Stop chatting and upload something. Someone's steel armchair can be inspiration for someone's else gs500 subframe :) Looking forward to see something happening in here

Thanks guys, I appreciate the encouragement

I agree with ya Rich, that's one of the things I loved about Cardomain... I joined back in 2005 I think and when I look back it is amazing to see all the steps I took and work I've done to my vehicles (especially since my old laptop died and all my pics were lost!!)  :technical:  Well... when the site was still formatted the same... now I can't see crap.

The car I'm working on now is my 1994 Spirit... yeah I know, nothing special, stupid sh*t box mid 90's car, dime a dozen, why put time and money into a car like that, I've heard all that before... but it was a gift from my uncle 10 years ago and it has tons of memories, a few awards and it has been SO much fun working on.  Plus it's technically a classic this year... hard to imagine!!!  :icon_eek:

I just got home from putting 7 good hours in at the garage and I am beat so tomorrow I will most likely start a thread, upload some pics and share the story of my '94 Evil Spirit  :icon_razz:

Damn. Most of us know that there is bigger value than monetary - it's sentimental and emotional one so put in this "stupid sh*t box" as much money and love work as you want and you got my blessing :D - on condition that you will share it on this thread ;P

I did start other project apart from my GS too but is way far from what we talk here lol (and inappropriate - "modern art" carving in wood - sculpture of male "bits" lol)

That's why I thought maybe I wouldn't get flogged here... how many times do we hear, "Oh it's just a GS500 at the end of the day" or "When are you gonna get a *real* bike??" from people?

Your other project... omg it would be cool if it were possible to share here... my degree is in art (so I am very familiar with nakeds and whatnot) and it would be awesome to see any art projects  :D

more pics.
of the car, not the pee pee.
although as long as it's not a photo of a model I think it's good for it's own thread. My wife made a very similar sculpture in college, in our apartment living room. That was when I bought my first shopvac

Be aware, this is not very wise advise!

Cool little cars. Buddy of mine had one in high school. We ....uh.... beat on it a little bit. It didn't survive.....

Good on you for keeping it on the road!

Haha totally!! My cousin had the Spirit before I did and he beat the hell out of it... allllmost killed it haha.  It sat at my dad's garage for a year with transmission issues, busted oil pan, leaky gas tank, etc. but then I was in a position that I had to drive it in a pinch and I fell in love with it so the fixing began   I am at work so more about the car to come........

I would really appreciate your academic opinion about my "masterpiece ShowBizWolf but I suspect I would be trolled lol. Although I would appreciate criticism because friends and family quite admire it - I sense fear of possibility of discouraging me from them Hahahahahaha

Where to start... ok so in addition to fixing everything mechanical on the car I wanted to do a crazy paint job. My original idea was to do a heavy metal and graffiti scheme over the whole car. I wanted it to look fun... like a party car... like it had been left at a rave or overnight in a crazy part of the city... but with a bit of hand painted artwork too.

The first scheme I did was green, gray and black with Wayne Static on the driver's side, Corey Taylor on the hood and all of Slipknot on the passenger side. Unfortunately, people started calling it the "Camo car" and I wondered, "How is lime green, gray and black camo?"

I obviously did not pick the right colors to get the graffiti idea across so I just eventually went crazy and used all kinds of colors.  I also changed the passenger side and painted Elizabeth Montgomery on it instead to really change it up.  Enough typing, here are some pics...

Started with this, 2005:

Did the first pant job, added my own aluminum and duraglas front and rear bumper mods and fit Vader side skirts for a Celica, clear signal lenses, exhaust tip, windshield banner, Motegi wheels painted green, etc:

Then did the second paint job, modified my bumpers and skirts, redid the exhaust, repainted the wheels, etc.
I also customized the interior and patched a few holes in the floor and frame at this point but we will get to that later:

I know it's crazy... some people hate it, some people love it.  I will add more soon!!  Thank you for looking

Whoa!

Any car with a beer tap for a shifter (?) is cool in my book.... Showbiz, you've done a ton of work on a car that most people look at as "disposable". For that, I applaud you!

I drive a pontiac 6000le from like '90 or something, so I sort of understand loving an old crappy car.

Awesome project, wish I had paint skills like that!
